Bishkek, Jan. 11, 2025. / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Republic has taken an important step towards strengthening international standards by approving the Program for the Implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights for 2025–2027.
The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan reported that, the UN Guiding Principles, approved by the Human Rights Council in 2011, are based on three key components:
- The duty of the state to protect human rights.
- The responsibility of business to respect human rights.
- Guarantee of legal protection in case of violation of rights.
The program is aimed at:
* Promoting corporate responsibility of business for respecting human rights.
* Increasing the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan.
* Creating a coordinated approach of government agencies to business and human rights issues.
The action plan includes 3 components, 9 tasks and 25 events, the implementation of which involves government agencies, business associations and non-profit organizations.
The program will allow Kyrgyzstan to strengthen its position in Central Asia, demonstrate its commitment to international standards and create more transparent conditions for business.
This step will be an important element in the development of the country as a reliable and socially responsible partner for international investors.
