Bishkek, Nov. 30, 2024 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan continues to implement the system of mandatory fuel labeling, Coordinator of the fuel labeling center of Uchkun JSC Tynystan Shabdanov said.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan is one of the first countries in the CIS to introduce the fuel labeling system.
"At the moment labeling is successfully implemented in all regions of the republic," Shabdanov added.
The fuel labeling system is aimed at ensuring transparent accounting of fuel production and import volumes. It creates conditions for fair competition, protects consumers from smuggled products, improves the administration of excise tax on fuels and lubricants and increases tax revenues to the country's budget.
It also eliminates manipulation of fuel quality and volumes.
"For companies that work honestly, this system does not create problems, but for shadow business it will become a serious obstacle. To date, the entire volume of fuel and lubricants entering Kyrgyzstan is subject to labeling," Shabdanov added.
From Oct. 1, 2024, Kyrgyzstan introduced mandatory labeling of gasoline and diesel fuel, both imported and produced.
