Bishkek, March 11, 2022 . / Kabar /. First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev held a meeting of the Republican Commission on Population and Housing Census of the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the cabinet said Friday.
"The census will not only allow us to know the exact number of population, but will also provide an opportunity to assess how people's living conditions have changed, which is very important. Based on the data obtained, management decisions will be made, including on the most specific problems, whether it's the construction of a school or a kindergarten, as well as strategic planning for the development of the republic as a whole," Kozhoshev emphasized, noting that the census is a strategically important task of the state.
Then, Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the republic Baktybek Kudaibergenov reported on the progress of the population census.
He noted that at present 27,899 people are involved in the census with KGS 321.9 million allocated from the republican budget for this purpose.
The chairman of the Statistics Committee also elaborated on the problems arising in the field during the census.
He emphasized the insufficient work of local authorities in the organization of the census, lack of Internet connection and vehicles, which complicates the work of census takers.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Kozhoshev criticized the work of the Ministry of Digital Development and Alfa Telecom CJSC in providing 4G Internet connection in some villages of Jalal-Abad Oblast.
