Kyrgyzstan, Iran discuss bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation

Bishkek, June 2, 2023. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Turdakun Sydykov held a meeting with Vice President of the National Development Fund of Iran for Foreign Investment Hossein Eyvazlou

with the participation of members of the Board of Directors of this Fund and heads of departments in the field of investment projects.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues on the agenda of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, and exchanged views on enhancing interaction between the relevant departments and raising the level of export-import relations between the two countries.

In order to practically implement the tasks aimed at raising the level of economic and investment cooperation, Eyvazlou proposed to focus on the implementation of short-term and long-term investment projects within the framework of bilateral and multilateral regional cooperation in such areas as transport, logistics, agriculture, animal husbandry and etc. In this context, the Iranian side expressed readiness for joint work in this area.

In turn, Sydykov, supporting the proposal of the Iranian side, in order to implement the mentioned projects in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, proposed to speed up the work on the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Iranian Development Fund, as well as to prepare for signing the corresponding draft memorandum.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to hold an online meeting in the near future at the level of experts from the relevant departments of the two countries for further coordination and preparation for the signing of the mentioned memorandum.
