Kyrgyzstan, Iran discuss issues of intensifying trade and economic co-op

Bishkek, June 2, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy Sanjar Mukanbetov met on June 2 with Iranian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Saeed Kharrazi, the press service of the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry said.

Mukanbetov noted the Economy Ministry attaches great importance to development and activation of cooperation with Iran in such areas as trade, investment, entrepreneurship, etc.

During the meeting, Minister Mukanbetov congratulated Kharrazi on the appointment as an Iranian ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, and wished him success in further work.

He also noted the joint efforts to combat the pandemic, and expressed hope for a speedy recovery from the current situation associated with the spread of coronavirus infection.

In turn, Saeed Kharrazi noted the readiness of Iranian companies to implement projects in the construction sector, supply construction materials, and the need to solve the issue of logistics and interbank transactions.

At the same time, in order to promote the development of bilateral cooperation, Mukanbetov offered to export to Iran by barter.

In order to create conditions for economic relations development, an agreement was reached with Ambassador Kharrazi to promote international cooperation in trade, construction, etc.

At the same time, the Iranian ambassador voiced interest in attracting investment in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as familiarizing representatives of the Iranian business environment with the priority sectors of the Kyrgyz economy.

In conclusion, the meeting participants expressed hope that constructive approaches of the parties to resolve all bilateral cooperation issues will make it possible to find mutually acceptable solutions in all key areas, based on friendship and mutual understanding.
