Bishkek, June 12, 2023. / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Iran, Turdakun Sydykov, met with Acting Iranian Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Aghamiri on June 11, 2023. During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
Ambassador Sydykov noted the existing potential for business cooperation in the field of agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic and suggested considering the possibility of creating joint farms, building trade and logistics centers for processing and storing agricultural products and meat. He noted the existing potential of Kyrgyzstan for the production and export of honey and beans to Iran.
In turn, the Iranian official expressed readiness to intensify cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of agriculture, noting also the existing transit and transport potential of both countries for the import and export of agricultural products.
Taking into account that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the co-chair of the Iranian part of the Kyrgyz-Iranian joint intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the parties discussed holding its next 13th meeting in Bishkek this year.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold an expert meeting via videoconference with the participation of representatives of ministries and departments of the two countries in order to further agree on the timing of the said meeting and prepare for the signing of bilateral international and interdepartmental agreements that are under consideration by the parties.
