Bishkek, Dec. 5, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is a secular country and the existing faiths should live in peace and show mutual understanding to each other, Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs Zayirbek Ergeshov told at the conference on “Interfaith Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan”.
He said that the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic clearly states that Kyrgyzstan is a secular country and religion should not be politicized.
“Today’s event is the result of a cycle of forums held from June to October 2018 in all regions of the country. In addition, the event is held within the framework of the implementation of the Concept of the State Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Religious Sphere for 2014-2020, in order to develop approaches to strengthen interfaith dialogue, principles of respect for various views and beliefs, human rights and freedoms, tolerance and religious tolerance, prevent radicalism and extremism” Ergeshov said.
He noted that there should not be separation and discrimination based on religious affiliation in the country.
