Bishkek, June 24, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is at the forefront in the transition to a “green economy,” President Sadyr Zhaparov said in an interview to Kabar News Agency.
“We are building more than 60 small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants throughout the country. Stations are being built to obtain energy from the sun and wind.
The electric vehicle production plant will start operating this year. In addition, I am negotiating with several countries to write off our foreign debt and replace it with investment in the green economy.
The two countries have already tentatively promised to write off USD 120 million of our foreign debt. If everything goes well, we will get rid of this debt by the end of the year. Of course, these funds will be used to transition to a green economy. We will turn our country into a green country,” he said.
