Bishkek, Dec.12, 2019 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is close enough to remove from blacklist of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), head of the airworthiness maintenance department of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Biymurzayev told reporters.
Biymurzayev said there has been talks of de-listing for a long time, but the process is not easy. He assures the Agency and the Ministry of Transport are working hard.
"We have aligned our aviation regulations in accordance with international standards. We are training our staff, increasing the budget. The Civil Aviation Agency has signed an agreement on training of inspectors with France, Turkey, ICAO and the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) program," Biymurzayev said.
Last year they applied to ICAO for a validation mission - the process of confirming the actions of the CAA in order to eliminate inconsistencies during the audit. ICAO did the above work in April and the results were sent to EASA. The latter developed a list of 29 questions.
"In August we sent them answers. More recently, we received 12 more clarifying questions. We plan to answer them and send them before the end of the year. EASA is making a decision to inspect the Civil Aviation Agency in order to remove from the blacklist," he explained.
Almaz Biymurzayev assured Kyrgyzstan is close to its ultimate goal.
The Kyrgyz airlines were blacklisted by the European Union in 2006. They are forbidden to operate flights to European cities.

It changes the principles and techniques of international air navigation and fosters the planning and development of international air transport to ensure safe and orderly growth. Its headquarters is located in the Quartier International of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
