Bishkek, Nov. 8, 2022. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is in the top 3 CIS countries for winter tourism, TurStat reported.

The information system has presented a rating of the most popular and attractive places among tourists for winter tourism and recreation in countries of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).

The rating of the CIS countries was compiled on the basis of popularity among tourists and the development of infrastructure for tourism and recreation in the CIS countries.

According to TurStat, the top five CIS countries for winter holidays among tourists include Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Uzbekistan and Armenia.

Tourists in Kyrgyzstan in winter are attracted by the capital Bishkek and the ski resort of Karakol, as well as Issyk-KulLake.

In Kazakhstan, tourists tend to the capital Astana and the city of Almaty, the Shymbulak resort in the Almaty mountains, as well as the Burabay resort.

In Azerbaijan, tourists come to the capital Baku and the city of Sheki, to the Shahdag and Tufandag ski resorts, as well as the Naftalan health resort.

In Uzbekistan, in winter, tourists visit the capital Tashkent and the Silk Road cities of Bukhara and Samarkand, as well as the Chimgan ski resort.

In Armenia, in winter, tourists are attracted by the capital Yerevan and the ski resort of Tsakhkadzor.
