Bishkek, July 11, 2019. /Kabar/. “Kyrgyzstan is interested in deep partnership with Switzerland by further expanding cooperation in the banking sector to attract capital to priority sectors of the economy,” Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said in Bern during a meeting with Chairman of the Board of Governors of the National Bank of Switzerland Thomas Jordan.
President Jeenbekov noted with satisfaction the high level of mutually beneficial relations between the National Banks of Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland and stressed the importance of further expansion of areas and directions of bilateral cooperation, his press service reported.
Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan also noted the active and fruitful cooperation with the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan. He expressed readiness for further cooperation, including the exchange of experience in relevant areas of the financial sector.
Chairman Jordan stressed that in 2018 he visited Kyrgyzstan to participate in the events, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the national currency - the Som.
Thomas Jordan expressed hope that his next visit to Kyrgyzstan will take place this year, which allows to discuss in detail the prospects of cooperation in the banking sector.
