Bishkek, July 12, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the CIS that has not introduced Mandatory motor third-party liability insurance (OMTPLI), member of the board of the State Financial Supervision Commission Nurlek Baibosunov told at Kabar News Agency.

He said that countries that do not have OMTPLI in the world are also single.

"On February 7, 2019, the law on OMTPLI comes into force. I would like to clarify that OMTPLI is not insurance for the driver or his car. For insurance of the car and a life of the driver there is other kind of insurance. OMTPLI is mandatory and insured for damage or life and health of a person who is injured by the driver. This is such a help to the driver, who is guilty of an accident," he explained.

Baibosunov noted that the tariffs for OMTPLI are set by the government and are currently under consideration in the Cabinet.

"I do not think that tariffs will change much from those originally proposed in 2016," he said.
