Bishkek, July 13, 2022. /Kabar/. A delegation of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration Almaz Isanov met in Seoul with President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Sohn Hyuk-Sang.
During the meeting, issues of further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and KOICA were discussed, the press service of the Presidential Administration reported.
In particular, Almaz Isanov outlined the importance of expanding KOICA assistance to Kyrgyzstan in terms of promoting projects on digital transformation of priority sectors of the economy (digital banking, agriculture, green and creative economy, energy, including micro-energy, etc.).
The Kyrgyz side also noted the importance of research work on digital skills and water efficiency in Kyrgyzstan in the light of the adopted National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026.
Almaz Isanov proposed to consider the possibility of training and retraining of Kyrgyz specialists in the above areas, and expressed gratitude to the Government of South Korea and KOICA for their assistance in implementing various projects in the country.
In turn, the KOICA president highly appreciated the level of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency.
With regard to joint projects, Sohn Hyuk-Sang expressed readiness to assist in the promotion and implementation of priority projects in Kyrgyzstan in relevant areas and sectors, as well as to support various initiatives of Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of the meeting the sides agreed on further joint work on the promotion of KOICA projects, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Institute of Economic Research under the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and KOICA.
