Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2020 / Kabar/. A 16-day global campaign “Life without violence” has been launched in Kyrgyzstan, timed to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Violence against Women, Minister of Labor and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova told today at a press conference at the Kabar Agency.

She said that the campaign calls for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls, as women and girls continue to face various forms of violence such as domestic violence, in public places, bride kidnapping, early marriage, which is a serious violation of human rights.

“The 16-day campaign, which will take place in Kyrgyzstan this year, aims to call for breaking the silence on violence against women and girls, and reaffirm collective commitment and strengthening our joint action to eliminate gender-based violence. This campaign is part of a larger effort by Kyrgyzstan to prevent and eradicate violence,” Soltonbekova said.
