Kyrgyzstan launches anti-alcohol program

Bishkek, Nov. 18, 2021 / Kabar /. Anti-alcohol program of the Republican Narcology Center is being actively implemented in Kyrgyzstan the with the support of the World Health Organization.

The press service of the Ministry of Health said that, on Nov. 17, specialists from the Republican Center for Narcology held a training seminar for employees of the Sokuluk Center for General Medical Practice of the Chui Region.

The speakers were doctors, narcologists who noted the problems that do not receive due attention related to alcohol addiction among the population.

During the meeting, its participants discussed a plan for the implementation of the anti-alcohol campaign, shared their practical skills in identifying people with alcohol dependence and information materials.

According to statistics, about 35 thousand people with alcohol addiction are officially registered in Kyrgyzstan, of which 88% are men and 12% are women.

Every 6th man in the world dies due to diseases acquired against the background of alcohol addiction.
