Bishkek, Apr. 23, 2020. /Kabar/. A system of mass laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19 has been launched in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus Infection reported.
The new laboratory meets all requirements and standards for COVID-19 diagnosis. The Ministry of Health provided an appropriate room at the production base of the Viral Research and Rare Infections Laboratory at the Republican Center of Quarantine and Especially Dangerous Infections.
In turn, the leadership of one of the capital’s private laboratory (Bonetsky Laboratory) reported on the readiness to conduct 3055 free PCR-tests for physicians and law enforcement officers.
According to Director of Bonetsky Laboratory Artem Lyzhin, the project is implemented through donations from entrepreneurs and philanthropists.The first to respond to this initiative was the Mol Bulak Microcredit Company. It has allocated USD 100,000 for the purchase of reagents, as well as PPE (personal protective equipment) and USD 61,000 for the necessary technological equipment.
As of Apr. 23, a total of 631 cases of coronavirus infection has been registered in Kyrgyzstan, among them 162 cases of medical personnel infection.
302 citizens have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, 8 have died.
