Kyrgyzstan launches mobile application to check knowledge of state language

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2020 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyztest state institution has launched a mobile training application to check the level of knowledge of the state language.

Batma Topoeva-Stavinskaya, the director of the Kyrgyztest state institution said ata briefing that the mobile application includes 6 standard tests: vocabulary, grammar, reading, comprehension, spelling, and speaking.

“In total, since 2014, about 50 thousand citizens have been tested,” she said.

At the same time, the head of the institution noted that a new testing program has been developed now.

Kyrgyzstan has been celebrating today the State Kyrgyz Language Day. However, due to the pandemic, this year all events are held online.

The State Language Day is celebrated annually on Sept. 23, since on this day in 1989, the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR adopted a law on the state language, after which the Kyrgyz language received the status of the state language. The official language in Kyrgyzstan is Russian.
