Kyrgyzstan launches national information campaign

Bishkek, Sept. 10, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan has launched the national information campaign #Sakta #Zashiti (Protect) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov made an address in connection with the start of the campaign, the press service of the government reported.

In his address the prime minister said that social cohesion is essential in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Boronov also expressed gratitude to the UN in the Kyrgyz Republic and international partners for their support of the Kyrgyz Government's initiatives and assistance, interaction and partnership in carrying out the campaign.

He noted that the campaign is aimed at protecting the lives of fellow citizens.

“The national information campaign is a continuation of the ongoing work to inform the population about health safety measures, the importance of strengthening immunity, post-coronavirus rehabilitation, especially taking into account the possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the autumn-winter period,” the Kyrgyz PM said.

He also stressed that the campaign aims to raise public awareness of the negative impact of COVID-19, including the importance of compliance with measures to protect health, countering the spread of fake news. Another important goal of the campaign should be to strengthen community cohesion in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.

“Only through common efforts and good discipline we can overcome this ailment,” he said expressing confidence that the implementation of the national information program will have a positive impact on the population of the country, encouraging them to lead a healthy lifestyle and adhere to the rules of health protection.
