Bishkek, July 12, 2021 . / Kabar / . Major sports reforms are waiting for schoolchildren, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, Director of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports Kanat Shabdanbayev told Monday at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He added the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science and "School League" Federation launch "School League" program in the republic, aimed at promotion of mass sports among schoolchildren.

"It's no secret that since the collapse of the Soviet Union no clear model for the development of physical culture and sports has been created in Kyrgyzstan. Despite the fact that the republic has 71 sports schools and more than 100 federations of different sports, only a few children go in for sports," the deputy minister said.
"For the further development of sports in Kyrgyzstan, market measures on mutually beneficial terms with private companies are necessary. Such practice is widely used all over the world. In execution of the instruction of Kyrgyz president on the spiritual, moral and physical education, the State Agency for Sports has developed a "School League" program. This program involves the development of such team sports as soccer, volleyball and basketball," Shabdanbayev noted.
These sports were chosen because they are widely developed and do not require special training, large investments and special equipment. Besides, team games develop discipline, responsibility and team spirit.
"Thus, this program will give children the opportunity to develop, learn to be responsible and be communicative, create conditions for the formation of spiritual-patriotic feelings. It will create conditions for the emergence of the institute of fans," concluded the head of the State Agency.
