Kyrgyzstan launches project on reconstruction of irrigation system

$ 32 million will be allocated for the project "Reconstruction of the Irrigation System of the Kyrgyz Republic", allocated as a grant by the People's Republic of China for the construction of 6 water facilities.

The project provides for the reconstruction and construction of water management facilities in Issyk-Kul, Batken, Talas and Chui oblasts.

After their commissioning, 5410 hectares of new irrigated lands will be put into operation, water supply in the area of ​​22100 hectares will be increased.

In general, the implementation of the project will create jobs for 40,000 rural residents throughout the country.

The object for reconstruction of the Ak-Olon channel in Ton district of the Issyk-Kul oblast was included in the list of water management facilities included in the state program of irrigation development of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2017-2026.

The head of state got acquainted with the reconstruction project of the Ak-Olon channel of Ton region, which envisages the construction of a head water intake facility.

After completion of the construction of the facility "Reconstruction of the head water intake and the main Ak-Olon canal of Ton region of Issyk-Kul oblast" 516 hectares of new land will be put into operation, and water availability in the area of ​​3565 hectares will also be increased.

The project, which costs about 500 million soms, is planned to be completed by 2021.
