Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2020. /Kabar/. On Nov. 16-21, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic is conducting "Say Thanks to Nurse” information campaign with the support of the "Medical Education Reforms in the Kyrgyz Republic” project.
According to the ministry's press service, the World Health Organization has declared 2020 “The International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife”.
"Say Thanks to Nurse” information campaign is part of the activities in the Kyrgyz Republic, dedicated to the International Year of Nurse and the Midwife, and is conducted in order to implement the Program of the Kyrgyz Government on Public Health Protection and Health Care System Development for 2019-2030 “Healthy Person – Prosperous Country”.
In 2020, 2,428 midwives, 1,450 paramedics, 25,597 nurses and medical brothers, who represent most of the human resources of the country's health care system, provided medical and preventive care to the population of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 proved to be a very difficult year for the national health care system as a whole, as well as for nursing professionals: they were the ones who experienced the greatest burden because of their work in the "red" zones, mobile teams, at the level of primary health care, and as operators of 118 call-centers.
As part of the information campaign, it is planned to produce and place in the media and public spaces of social advertising (posters, videos), the participation of representatives of the nursing profession in TV and radio programs, the organization of online campaigns in social networks (under the #MedaiymdargaRahmat – [Thank a Nurse] hashtag), as well as the organization of awards / recognition ceremonies of the nursing profession.
The information campaign is expected to increase the recognition and prestige of the nursing profession and help the public learn more about the important role of nurses, medical brothers and paramedics in providing public health services.
