Bishkek, May 10, 2020 / Kabar/. The state of emergency introduced in certain territories of Kyrgyzstan ends on May 10 at 24.00, a curfew will be lifted, the country’s Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev told at a meeting of the Republican headquarters on COVID-19 on Sunday.
The press service of the government said that the prime minister noted that earlier President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in his address on the occasion of Victory Day announced the continuation of the emergency situation regime throughout the country.
“The emergency situation regime adopted on March 22 will be continued. Sanitary quarantine posts will work until the epidemiological situation stabilizes. Restrictions on entry from one region to another remain in force, control will be strengthened. At the same time, quarantine will be introduced in Bishkek and Osh cities, in At-Bashi region of Naryn Oblast and in Kanysh-Kiya village of Chatkal region of Jalal-Abad Oblast due to the difficult epidemiological situation. The current situation with the spread of the global coronavirus pandemic requires each citizen to take special responsibility for their health and life. Only due to strict observance of sanitary and hygienic rules and the rules of self-distance we can fight this infection,” said the prime minister.
Abylgaziev emphasized that all security measures taken today are mainly aimed at protecting the health of citizens. He expressed confidence that compatriots would react to the imposed restrictions with understanding and responsibility.
“If the epidemiological situation worsens in certain areas, measures will be taken to introduce a quarantine regime,” Abylgaziev added.
The prime minister called on Kyrgyz citizens to comply with sanitary and epidemiological rules and to self-distance for the benefit of their health and the health of their loved ones.
The emergency situation regime was introduced in Kyrgyzstan on March 22, later a state of emergency was imposed with curfew in some cities and regions of the country on March 25 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
