Bishkek, June 11, 2024. /Kabar/. A delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic represented by Daniyar Bostonov, Director of the State Agency of Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Aman Mamaev, Commercial Director of Manas International Airport, is in Malaysia to hold negotiations on the possible launch of direct flight between Bishkek and Kuala Lumpur.
From June 10 to 12, 2024, the delegation is scheduled to meet with the aviation authorities of Malaysia, the top executives of major airlines, as well as with representatives of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
On June 10, a meeting was held with Hadiyatul Hayati Khalil, Deputy Undersecretary, Aviation Division, Ministry of Transport of Malaysia, and Azman Bin Hitam, Principal Assistant Director, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.
During the meeting, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic made a detailed presentation on the development of civil aviation in Kyrgyzstan, confirmed the granting of the Fifth Freedom Rights to Malaysian airlines, giving them the opportunity to use Bishkek as a transit point, and also informed the Malaysian side about the country's tourism potential.
The Malaysian side, in turn, confirmed its readiness to encourage its airlines to carry out passenger and cargo flights between the two capitals. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to make the necessary changes to the intergovernmental agreement on air transportation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Malaysia.
The visit of the delegation takes place under the implementation of understandings reached following the official visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim to the Kyrgyz Republic on May 15-16 this year.
