Bishkek, March 18, 2022. / Kabar /. Two years ago, on this day March 18 the first case of COVID-19 coronavirus infection was registered in Kyrgyzstan. On this occasion, the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 provided some statistics.
Thus, there have been four outbreaks of the disease in two years:
- June - August 2020;
- October - December 2020;
- June-July 2021;
- January - February 2022.
The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan changed six COVID-19 treatment protocols.
More than 100 Kyrgyz healthcare workers have died.
In March 2021, a large-scale vaccination campaign began in the country.
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization announced the pandemic of a novel coronavirus infection.
What happened in 2 years:
- virus mutation, 5 different strains identified;
- 10 vaccines against COVID-19 were recognized;
- COVID-19 vaccination certificates/passports were approved;
- more than 60% of the world's population has received the vaccine;
- almost all air traffic around the world has been restored;
- restrictions in most countries have been lifted.
As of March 18, 2022, a total of 6 million, 64,926 people have died of COVID-19 worldwide, 465 million 700,653 cases have been registered, and 10 billion 755 million 408,149 people have been vaccinated.
