Bishkek, July 8, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan may be in danger due to the aggravated situation in Afghanistan, chairman of the State Committee for National Securityof the Kyrgyz Republic Kamchybek Tashiev told at a press conference in Bishkek.
He said that today a difficult situation is developing on the border of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan from Afghanistan side.
“There is a big threat to our country. All those refugees who crossed over to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan can move to our country. We are preparing for such threats. Active work is being carried out in this direction,” he said.
Tashiev also stressed that against the background of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, terrorist organizations in Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan, switched to subversive activities.
In addition, the head of the State Committee for National Security said that there is a return of militants - immigrants from Central Asia, staying in Syria, to their homeland.
“At the moment they are returning via Afghanistan. There is a threat from among our citizens who were in Syria. We may be in danger. Our work is aimed at ensuring national security from these terrorist groups,” he said.
