Kyrgyzstan names new prime minister

Bishkek, June 17, 2020. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed Wednesday a Decree on the appointment of Kubatbek Boronov as Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan with his release from previous duties.

The Decree was signed in accordance with Part 5 Article 84 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the President’s press service reported.

Today, June 17 the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) has approved Kubatbek Boronov as prime minister of Kyrgyzstan.

Also, deputies approved the Government's program, structure and Cabinet of Ministers. 105 deputies voted for Boronov's candidacy, 2 voted against.

On June 15, Kyrgyzstan’s PM Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev resigned.

The following day President Jeenbekov accepted his resignation.
