Bishkek, Apr. 29, 2020. /Kabar/. “Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is negotiating with Kazakhstan the return of compatriots from Russia's Orenburg Oblast through its territory," First Deputy Foreign Minister Nuran Niyazaliyev said at a news briefing.
According to him, the situation in Sol-Iletsky District of Orenburg Oblast, bordering Kazakhstan, is acute at the moment.
"All measures are being taken from our side to solve this problem. Our consulates and embassies visited Sol-Iletsk held a meeting with Kyrgyz citizens. They are being helped with food, accommodation and we have also involved international organizations. Some of them have returned to Russian cities where they came from, and some want to return to Kyrgyzstan," he said.
Nuran Niyazaliyev noted talks with Kazakhstan are going on actively.
"The other day they should give us an answer and their options for returning Kyrgyzstanis through Kazakhstan. That's complicated by the fact that an emergency regime has been introduced throughout Kazakhstan. Our compatriots will have to cross four regions.
Many countries are concerned that foreign nationals may become carriers of the coronavirus, and therefore the situation is becoming more complicated. Whole world has faced this problem. We hope and are waiting for a positive response from our Kazakh colleagues," the first deputy foreign minister said.
