Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2021 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan has been negotiating with Russia on the import of 2-3 billion kWh of electricity through Kazakhstan, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Aziz Aaliev told at a press conference in the Government House.

He said that if we can ensure these plans, then it is planned to reach the level of spring water in the Toktogul reservoir of about 8.5 billion cubic meters.

“This will allow us to enter the spring-summer campaign in the spring and the inflow of water will flow into the rivers. And we hope that the low-water period in 2022 will come to naught, because the cycle lasts from 3 to 4 years. If the water level is full, we will already get out of the difficult situation and reach the water level of 15-16 billion cubic meters in the Toktogul reservoir,” he said.

He noted that a contract for 2 billion kWh was signed with Turkmenistan for the import of electricity, which saves water.
