The attempts to impose incomprehensible human rights standards on Kyrgyzstan and, moreover, to accuse the country of failing to meet them, have become so cavalier and inappropriate that the authorities of the republic have decided to put a stop to it.
The latest precedent was the European Parliament's resolution on the Social Democrat party withdrawn from local elections and their leader arrested with aides for vote buying. The tendentious document released by the MEPs was instantly picked up and reproduced in the liberal media. This ignored the fact that alternative opinions were also heard in the European Parliament itself. For example, Thierry Mariani, a French deputy, recommended to his colleagues that before interfering in the internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan, it is necessary to understand the issue at least a little bit.
“Now it is Kyrgyzstan's turn to become a target of European neocolonialism. Parliament has once again encroached on the fundamental principle of the sovereignty of nations. In this debate, the European Union has chosen its victim, prosecuted by its own country's justice system on charges of vote-buying. Whether it is “Catargate” in Brussels or events in Kyrgyzstan, socialists are often implicated in corruption scandals. And, frankly, are our discussions in line with the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation between peoples? Do we have the right here in Strasbourg to dictate or even comment on the internal decisions of the democratic state of Kyrgyzstan when we have no serious evidence to back it up? I am firmly convinced that we do not. Respect for the sovereignty of states and peoples must prevail over any other principles. We cannot pretend to be defenders of democracy and human rights while constantly violating the principles of political non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. The European Union is increasingly turning into what it has always wanted to avoid - an interventionist and neocolonial power,” Thierry Mariani said at a meeting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
One can only regret that the voices of adequate representatives of European elites are drowning in the narratives aimed at selective discrediting of the states that show independence in choosing the path of development and making sovereign decisions on the track of international relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs first responded to the inappropriate attacks on Kyrgyzstan, and later, during the People's Kurultai, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov once again drew attention to the fact that interference in the internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan is not the most rational approach. Moreover, the reason for teaching the standards of democracy is, to put it mildly, questionable. The fact is that the Social Democrats were caught handing out unaccounted money, and bribing voters is a criminal offense. The investigation confirmed it with facts, the amount of money intended for “financial bribing of supporters” was established, and now only the court will decide the fate of the Social Democrats.
In this regard, Sadyr Zhaparov, speaking to the delegates of the Kurultai, once again emphasized that from now on in Kyrgyzstan everything will be only according to the law, and foreign partners doubting something can always come to visit to understand how often the content of documents issued by them does not coincide with the real state of affairs.

The SDPK party in the last elections to the Bishkek City Council was caught distributing KGS 1.5 million to bribe votes. This is all proven. They hired 69 agitators, and 44 agitators did not register, and gave them money secretly. This is also vote buying. Should we pat them on the head for this?
Kyrgyzstan has gone through three revolutions, all of them as a result of elections. We have purchased new equipment for the Central Election Commission worth KGS 2 billion. In the future it will be even more convenient to vote. We will reach the point where it will be possible to vote from home. There will be no such thing that someone's vote is lost.
There is only one point - don't sell your votes. We want to get rid of the sick of bribing politicians and parties who have lived like this for all these 30 years.
You, not knowing the situation, are talking about us. Come and see how things work here. Do not forget that we are just passing the way you have passed earlier. We are making every effort to be developed like you. We are not enemies with you. I am not saying this with bad thoughts. We are an independent country. Please do not interfere in the internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan. We are ready to cooperate with all countries,” Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.
Kyrgyzstan resolves any issues related to elections and other internal affairs of the country as a sovereign state. Relying on national legislation, guided by the interests of citizens and the principles of democracy.
Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz leader emphasizes that election procedures in Kyrgyzstan have become as transparent and open as possible. The system of electronic voting and automatic recognition excludes “carousels” - that is, multiple voting at different polling stations, stuffing of fictitious ballots and other violations. In a word, we have a lot to learn, even from those countries where democracy is considered to be long established. At the same time, in addition to the ability to observe fundamental principles, we also have a sense of tact, so Kyrgyzstan does not follow bad examples and does not interfere in other people's affairs.
