Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2021 / Kabar /. A pre-election silence has started in Kyrgyzstan, on the eve of the parliamentary elections.
On this day, political parties are not allowed to campaign.
The parliamentary elections will be held on Nov. 28, 2021. According to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, adopted in a referendum on April 11, 2021, the new composition of the Jogorku Kenesh will consist of 90 deputies and is elected for a term of 5 years under a mixed electoral system. Thus, 54 deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh are elected according to a proportional system (according to open lists of candidates of political parties) in a single constituency, 36 deputies are elected according to the majoritarian system in single-mandate constituencies.
A total of 2,494 polling stations have been opened, of which 59 are abroad and 2,435 are in the country.
The final voter list includes 3,703,420 voters, of which 84,128 voters are included in the voter lists at polling stations formed abroad.
In single-mandate constituencies, the number of voters was: 3 619 292 (excluding voters registered abroad).
In total, 21 parties and 287 single-mandate candidates are taking part in the elections.
