Kyrgyzstan organizes recreation for 400 medics worked at height of pandemic

Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2020. /Kabar/. On Sept. 17-18, 400 medical workers have left for Issyk-Kul to rest and restore their health, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry reported.

These are doctors, nurses, orderlies and technical staff from health-care institutions in Batken, Chui, Dzhalal-Abad, Osh and Naryn Oblasts and the city of Bishkek, who struggled with the virus at the height of the pandemic in foci of infection.

This group of physicians will spend their holidays in boarding houses, located in villages of Issyk-Kul Oblast.

At a press conference in late July, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Aida Ismailova said measures will be taken to restore the health of medical workers who have fallen ill and have contracted COVID-19 while treating patients.

In Kyrgyzstan, total number of medical workers contracted COVID-19 has reached 3,188 so far, and 2,760 of them have recovered.
