Bishkek, Oct.28, 2019. /Kabar/. The International Renewable Energy Conference (IREC) took place in Seoul, the Republic of Korea on Oct. 23-25.
The Conference was attended by delegation from Kyrgyzstan consisting of Chairman of the State Agency for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Emil Osmonbetov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova, and President of the Association of Small Hydropower Plants of Kyrgyzstan Elvira Borombayeva, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
Bilateral meetings with Korea's Minister of Trade Industry and Energy Sung Yun-mo and Deputy Minister Joo Young-joon were held during the IREC.
The meetings included discussions the prospects of cooperation in the field of energy, including investment in the construction of hydropower plants in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the implementation of joint projects on renewable energy sources.
Brief discussions were also held with President and Chair of The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Ban Ki-moon, President of the Korea Energy Agency (KEA) Chang Seob Kim, and heads of delegations from Germany, Mongolia, Australia, Cambodia and other countries.
During the conversations with representatives of the leading Korean companies in the field of energy, the delegation of Kyrgyzstan spoke about the favorable investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic and the existing potential in the field of renewable energy sources.
