Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2024. /Kabar/. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov took part in the Third Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit, which is being held in Doha under the slogan "Sports Diplomacy", the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
In his speech, Edil Baisalov noted that sport, as an important tool of diplomacy, should contribute to strengthening cooperation and development on the Asian continent. In this context, he emphasized the World Nomad Games initiated by the Kyrgyz Republic and held for the first time in the world in 2014, the mission of which is to revive and preserve the culture, identity and way of life of various peoples through ethnocultural games. Taking this opportunity, the head of the Kyrgyz delegation invited the summit participants to take an active part in the upcoming WNG, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026.
In addition, the head of the Kyrgyz delegation focused on the international mountain and climate initiatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular the "Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions", the Second Mountain Summit "Bishkek + 25", planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2027, and called on the ACD member countries to actively participate in them.
Touching upon regional issues, Baisalov noted that Kyrgyzstan is following with great concern the tragic events and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli attack on southern Lebanon.
“The Kyrgyz Republic advocates for the earliest and complete cessation of military actions and calls for the adoption of all necessary measures to protect the civilian population and the beginning of a political dialogue for the purpose of a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in accordance with UN resolutions based on the principle of “two states for two peoples,” Baisalov emphasized.
