Bishkek, Feb.24, 2020. /Kabar/. The State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic is submitting for a public discussion a draft Government decision “On the approval of a Migration Policy Concept of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2020-2030.”
According to the document, the Concept for 2020-2030 provides a long-term vision for regulating migration processes. The document includes a system of goals, priority areas and tasks in the area of migration and development, and is based on respect for human rights and freedoms and protection of the national interests of Kyrgyzstan.
On the basis of the goals, tasks and directions set out in the National Development Strategy for 2018-2040, the Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030, adopted by the United Nations, as well as social and economic, political and cultural trends and the specific features of migration processes in the Kyrgyz Republic, the goal of the country's migration policy for 2020-2030 has been defined.
The aim of Kyrgyzstan's migration policy is to stabilize migration processes through the implementation of state programs, aimed at mitigating the adverse factors that cause and accompany migration and creating conditions for the maximum realization of migration potential for the benefit of the country's development.
The implementation of the migration policy concept will be coordinated and interlinked with state programs for sustainable social and economic development of the regions, improvement of living standards and human development.
The priority directions of migration policy are equal, determined based on the long-term goal of migration policy, current and upcoming social, demographic and economic challenges, understanding the role of human potential as the main source of social and economic well-being of the country.
Comprehensive measures, developed as a result of the implementation of the Concept of Migration Policy for 2020-2030, are expected to change negative migration trends provided that social and economic situation in the country are improved.
