Bishkek, June 7, 2021 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, 4,533 generating capacities are planned to be introduced by 2035, head of the National Energy Holding of the Kyrgyz republic Bakyt Sydykov said Monday during a round table, entitled "Power of Kyrgyzstan. Past. Present. Future".
He added that it is planned to attract $6 billion 58 million on the principle of public-private partnership without burdening the state budget.
Sydykov specified that in 2022 it is planned to commission the second unit of Kambar-Ata HPP 2, as well as to develop small hydropower with an increase of capacity of 9 MW.
At the same time, by 2023 it is planned to increase the capacity at the expense of small hydropower by 46 MW and launch of the Kulan hydropower plant with an increase of capacity by 100 MW. In 2024 and 2025, it is planned to increase the power generation capacity by 41 MW and 62 MW, respectively.
Besides, in 2026-2030 there are plans to construct the Upper-Naryn cascade of HPPs, which is expected to increase the capacity by 135 MW.
In 2025, it is planned to build a thermal power plant at the Kara-Kechin field, which will increase the capacity by 300 MW in that year and 300 MW more in 2026-2030.
In 2026-2030, it is planned to rehabilitate Thermal Power Station-2 with an increase in capacity by 150 MW. Between 2031-2035 it is planned to build Sary-Dzhaz cascade of HPPs and increase the capacity by 1,100 MW and Kambarata HPP-1 with an increase of 1,860 MW.
