Bishkek, Oct. 25, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan plans to export more than 600 thousand tons of agricultural products in 2018, Erkinbek Choduyev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation, told reporters at Kabar News Agency.

Last year more than 500 thousand tons of agricultural products were exported both to the Eurasian Economic Union countries and to the third countries.

“Today more than 400 thousand tons have been exported. For example, among vegetables are cabbage, carrots - more than 122 thousand tons, fruits - more than 59.5 thousand tons, dried fruits - more than 59.7 thousand tons, nuts and pistachios more than 11 thousand tons,” Choduev said.

This year it is planned to increase exports up to 600 thousand tons at the expense of beans and cotton.

“We plan to export more than 1 million tons by 2020. There is a potential. The export opportunity is growing every year. But we focus on recycled products. A draft resolution is now being developed, we are initiating the creation of a master plan for creating a cluster in 5 areas so that there is a complete chain: production, storage, processing, transportation and most importantly sales,” he concluded.
