Bishkek, Nov. 10, 2022. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and USAID, will work to increase vaccination coverage in Batken, Jalal-Abad and Chui regions, including Bishkek city, Cholpon Asanbaeva, Director of the USAID Strengthening Health Systems Resilience Project of USAID told.
She said that it is planned to train medical specialists in this direction, attract activists from local communities and conduct campaigns to inform the population about the benefits of vaccination against COVID-19.
“Earlier, thanks to information campaigns and efforts to mobilize the population for vaccination, the vaccination coverage increased by 8% in three districts of the Chui region. The same approaches are planned to be applied in Batken, Jalal-Abad, Chui regions and in Bishkek city, where vaccination rates are low. The main goal is to prevent the spread of new strains of COVID-19,” she said.
