Kyrgyzstan plans to increase pensions from Oct. 1

Bishkek, Aug. 12, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Ministry of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan is submitting for public discussion a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On the indexation of the insurance parts of pensions from Oct.1, 2021".

According to the document, it is proposed to approve from Oct. 1 this year coefficient of indexation of insurance parts of pensions in the amount of 1.08 and make indexation of insurance parts of pensions to the indexation coefficient of 1.08, but not less than KGS 200 for pensions, the total amount of which does not exceed KGS 4785.4, and not less than KGS 500 for pensions, the total amount of which is and exceeds KGS 4785.4.

According to preliminary calculations of the Social Fund, the number of pensioners on Oct. 1, 2021 will be 715.5 thousand people.

Following the upcoming indexation of the basic and insurance parts of pensions, the average size of the total pension is estimated to be KGS 6,248 (about USD 74), which is higher than the average pension at the time of the increase by 8%, or KGS 455.
