According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the total sown area of wheat is 255.5 thousand hectares, which is 8 thousand hectares more than last year.
It is noted that this year, special attention will be paid to regional specialization.
The ministry proposes to increase the sowing of perennial grasses in order to regulate the cultivation of crops and maintain and improve soil fertility, as well as solve the problem of feed. Thus, it is expected to increase the sown area for fodder crops to 387.9 thousand hectares.
It is also expected that the sown area under cotton, which is a profitable crop for spring sowing in 2021, will be increased by 1 thousand hectares compared to last year, the total area will be 22.8 thousand hectares, and the total area of corn will increase to 105 , 4 thousand hectares.
The planned sowing area of grain is 61.2 thousand hectares, which is 0.8 thousand hectares less than last year. The area of sugar beet is 9.3 thousand hectares, which is 0.9 thousand hectares more than last year. The sown area of potatoes, vegetables and melons at the level of last year is 76.4-53.0-11.6 thousand hectares.
This year, 19.7 thousand hectares will be sown with oilseeds.
As a result, the total sown area in the structure of agricultural crops this year is expected to be 1230.0 thousand hectares, which is 6.4 thousand hectares more than last year. This increase is mainly due to uncultivated land.
