Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2021 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, it is planned to introduce licensing of taxi, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Road Safety Ymanaly Sarkulov said Wednesday.

He added that in Kyrgyzstan, road transport accounts for 95-97% of all transportation, and therefore the control of mobile transportation remains an important point.

"Major high-profile accidents occur on international and national roads, which will unite regional centers and the capital of the country. Many of the drivers are carriers.

Passenger car transportation is carried out on the basis of a voluntary patent. Licensing will provide for some responsibility and control on the part of the state," Sarkulov believes.

With licensing there will be a system of passenger life insurance in case of an accident. If driver violates the rules of licensing, his license may be revoked and he will no longer be able to carry passengers.

"We are now developing the rules of licensing, which will be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, we will also take into account the opinion of citizens themselves. For this purpose, we have launched a hotline where citizens can apply," said the deputy head.

The project will be ready in the first quarter of 2022 after changes in the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
