Bishkek, Jan.13, 2025. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev on the margins of the Asian Financial Forum, which is held these days in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, held a meeting with head of the international division of Citibank (Citi bank) Ernesto Torres Cantu.
The Kyrgyz Cabinet’s press service reported that the meeting discussed the expansion of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Citibank, including the issuance of Eurobonds and the establishment of correspondent relations between Kyrgyz and international banks.
The head of the Cabinet confirmed the importance of partnership with the bank, noting its participation as the lead coordinator and bookrunner in the upcoming issue of Eurobonds of Kyrgyzstan.
He emphasized the intensification of cooperation between the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan and Citibank in 2024 and expressed the interest of Kyrgyz commercial banks, including Eldik Bank and Aiyl Bank, in establishing correspondent relations with Citibank.
In turn, Ernesto Torres Cantu emphasized the huge potential for the development of financial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and noted that the issue of Eurobonds will be an important step to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
In conclusion, the sides expressed confidence that the meeting will be a new impetus for further development of bilateral cooperation and achievement of joint success.
