Bishkek, Nov. 10, 2021 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan plans to launch 5G in 2023 in pilot mode, Dastan Dogoyev, the country’s Minister of Digital Development told within the framework of the Eurasian forum entitled StrategEast: State and IT in Bishkek.

He said that a draft conclusion on the implementation of 5G technologies in Kyrgyzstan is in the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the technology is planned to be introduced jointly with the private sector.

“However, at present, to implement the technology, it is necessary to develop and implement the necessary standards and regulatory framework. So, we plan to introduce the system in pilot mode in 2023,” he said.

The annual Eurasian forum StrategEast: State and IT is being held in Bishkek. The forum takes place once a year in one of the Eurasian capitals and serves as a platform for dialogue between governments and IT industry leaders.
