Bishkek, Oct. 30, 2020 / Kabar /. Compulsory motor liability third party insurance (OSAGO) is planned to be launched in Kyrgyzstan in 2021, Arzybek Kozhoshev, chairman of the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market told at a press conference at the Kabar Agency.
He said that in the coming year it is planned to launch a compulsory insurance system for:
- vehicles owned by legal entities, including state bodies and local self-government bodies;
- owners of trucks with a total permissible maximum weight of more than 12 tons.
Currently, this bill is being signed by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
“In the future, the OSAGO project is planned to be launched throughout the republic,” he said.
The head of the State Financial Supervision Service also noted that this type of insurance is necessary in the Kyrgyz Republic to prevent road accidents.
Currently, citizens who wish can also insure their car at any insurance company in Kyrgyzstan.
