Bishkek, Aug. 4, 2021 . / Kabar / . There are 2,875 wells in Kyrgyzstan, of which 1,449 are used for irrigation, Askarbek Dzhanybekov, the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development of the Kyrgyzstan said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency on Wednesday.
According to him, specialists of the Water Resources Department
management agency have prioritized it.
"Now there are 600 wells to be launched. Wells on the balance of the Department continue to work, while wells on the balance of local authorities were not used. Work is underway to get them started up as well. The wells can become an additional means for farmers to irrigate their crops," the agriculture minister said.
