Bishkek, Dec. 6, 2021. / Kabar /. The Investment and Development Agency of Kyrgyzstan, together with an investor from Turkey, plans to open a new textile factory in 2022 on the basis of an idle enterprise - the former Kara-Balta carpet plant, with a total area of 53 thousand m2.
The Investment and Development Agency said that in order to discuss further steps for the implementation of the project, a bilateral meeting was held on Dec. 3, followed by a trip to Kara-Balta to get acquainted with the progress of the construction of the factory.
This project will be implemented by the Dekna Bishkek Textile company, with an investment volume of USD 25 million.
The investor has already invested about USD 400 thousand for the construction of the factory.
The enterprise will be a unique one in its industry sector due to the cluster approach, since it involves practically waste-free production by processing rests from finished textile fabric into threads and further materials for fabrics.
Following the launch of the first stage, it is planned to expand the activities of the enterprise, by creating a whole textile cluster.
It should be noted that during the implementation of this project, an additional 800-1000 jobs will be created, which is very important today in conditions of unemployment, the report said.
