Bishkek, April 23, 2021 . / Kabar / . The productivity of agricultural animals leaves much to be desired, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development Askarbek Dzhanybekov said Friday at a briefing in Bishkek.
According to him, problems in cattle breeding in the country require intervention.
"Productivity in milk and meat of farm animals leaves much to be desired, it is very low. Therefore, in order to encourage the import of farm animals, which are higher in productivity, milk yield and meat quality, we have proposed changes to the Tax Code, which provides for removal of VAT on imported livestock. This provides an opportunity to optimize livestock prices and will create a comfortable environment for farmers,” the minister added.
