Bishkek, May 30, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan plans to screen the population for COVID-19, Deputy Health Mminister of the country Nurbolot Usenbaev told at a news briefing.

He said that a population screening program is being developed, there are several alternative ways.

“WHO has proposed to conduct research. We will be given 4.5 thousand EIA-tests (enzyme immunoassay), which we develop, agree on an action plan and conduct screening,” he said.

In addition, Usenbaev said that, the ministry of health is exploring the possibility of conducting EIA tests by private laboratories, in the presence of EIA analyzers.

“Thus, we can conduct a study among the population on the presence of immunity, on what percentage of the immune population is available. It will take time to prepare our laboratories. As soon as we are ready, we will announce and begin research. If someone wishes, we will try to provide them with tests as soon as possible,” he said.
