Bishkek, July 21, 2022. /Kabar/. Starting in November this year, it is planned to start vaccinating adolescent girls against the human papillomavirus, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan said.
A scientific and practical conference on introduction of a vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) in the Kyrgyz Republic entitled “Vaccine for your future. Stop cervical cancer" was held yesterday.
The event, organized by the Kyrgyz Health Ministry and the WHO Regional Office for Europe, discussed a wide range of issues related to vaccine-preventable infections, which include human papillomavirus.
"The event also served as a platform to enhance collaboration between national immunization, cancer control, reproductive health and adolescent health programs," the report said.
The conference participants included experts in epidemiology, gynecology, oncology, as well as representatives of leading national research centers, scientific circles, medical universities, heads of healthcare organizations, members of the National Association of Oncologists, and the National Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
