Bishkek, June 28, 2019. /Kabar/. The population of Kyrgyzstan will be fully provided with clean drinking water until 2023, Kubatbek Boronov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic said at the Parliament.
“The World Bank, the European Bank for Development and Reconstruction, the European Investment Bank, the Government of the Swiss Confederation, the Asian Development Bank, etc. are providing assistance in the area of clean drinking water. Residents of 584 villages need drinking water. The Government is taking necessary measures to provide drinking water to all villages of the country. Financial means from the republican budget are annually allocated for this purpose,” Boronov said.
Boronov said that Kyrgyzstan’s population will be fully supplied with clean drinking water by 2023. "Currently, there is no drinking water supply system in 584 villages out of 1,819. Rehabilitation of systems is required in 572 villages. This year, KGS 200 million has been allocated from the national budget to provide clean drinking water, and allocation of additional KGS 200 million is being considered,” the deputy prime minister said.
