Kyrgyzstan prepares 964 beds to combate coronavirus

Bishkek, Feb.28, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, 964 beds have been prepared and deployed by the Ministries of Health and Emergency Situations to carry out observations and possible hospitalization of citizens arriving in the republic, Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbayev told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

According to his data, 396 beds have been created on the basis of medical institutions, 100 beds-at Irkeshtam checkpoint, 100-at Torugart checkpoint, 183 at the Manas International Airport, 40 at the Osh International Airport, 70 in a military hospital in Osh, 75 in a military hospital in Besh-Kungei village.

"19 mobile residential buildings and 15 tents for 10 seats each were allocated through the Ministry of Emergency Situations in order to organize sanitary quarantine points. Three hot meals a day were organized for persons staying at temporary observation points.

On the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, 22 sanitary quarantine points (SQPs) have been set up at border checkpoints, where round-the-clock duty among epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists and other medical workers has been organized," the minister said.

Cholponbayev added coronavirus was detected in 46 countries and on 1 cruise ship.

The number of confirmed cases worldwide is 82,294 and 33,277 people have recovered.
